Last week I worked on basic phrases and started learning the pronouns and conjugations for certain words. Some of the basic phrases include "how are you?,"'I'm good,"'what are you doing?,"'hello,"'goodbye" and many other basic conversational phrases. I learned I, you, he/she, we, they, and so one. To go with those pronouns i learned some of the conjugations to some verbs such as the verb 'speak'. For example, "I speak English" is "ya gavoryu po anglisky." This week's focus is more on conjugations and continuing to learn basic phrases.

Being the first post of this blog, I'm simply going to explain what this blog is and it's purpose. Russian is a language I have always found intriguing and I have always been interested in learning it. I grew up surrounded by it, always going with my mom to her gatherings with all her Russian friends. I have always wanted to learn this language and I have tried to multiple time but it for some reason it never fell through. Now I actually want to put this want of mine to action. I have been to Russian 3 times and plan to go every summer from now on. Every time I'm there, I'm reminded of how disappointed I am in myself that I can't communicate with any of my relatives. My goal by the end of this project is to actually be able to have a conversation with my mom and relatives. By next week, I will have found some kind of book or program online that will effectively provide the goals I have for this project.
